My favorite action for workflow

January 11, 2009 at 6:38 am (Uncategorized)

You can purchase and upload the Indie subtle color action from this site. I highly recommend purchasing the Indie Rich Action Set. I use the Subtle color action on every image as a basic warming and slightly coloring enriching tool. You can use pay-pal to pay for the action and a link will be sent to you directly to download.  You must have Photo-shop CS3 in order to use these actions.

(I am providing to you the method I have found to yield to results that I like. Adjusting images in Photo-shop is called post-processing. Every photographer finds a method which works for him or her. I challenge each of you to find your own “methodology” or”style” that works best for you. This is the beauty of enjoying the subjective world of art…there are many rights! I love that!”)

You will need your own digital camera (preferably SLR) that allows you to shoot in manual mode. We will cover manual mode and aperture priority. You will need a jump drive, smart card or personal laptop to save your work. You will need Photoshop CS3 on your personal laptop or PC. A free 30 day trail can be downloaded online. Please bring your personal laptop to the workshop. I will have three laptops accessible for use on the day of the workshop. Please bring your camera as well as all accessories (Lens, external flash, media card (minimum 1 gig), accessory cords to upload to PC and 10-15 image portfolio prepared to share with the class.) I recommend that you bring your portfolio in digital format so they can be presented on screen and manipulated during the workshop. This workshop will focus on outdoor portrait photography. I use actions on every image I present to a client. I have purchased these actions online and some I have written myself. If you would like to obtain similar effect to your images you will need these actions. You must purchase the actions from the original source. I will publish a list of my favorite and most used actions prior to the workshop. I recommend that these actions be purchased prior to class.

The workshop will include lunch and dessert.
